Licenses for CO2e calculations

Licenses for automated calculations of greenhouse gases for transport and logistics with data transmission via API/XML or EXCEL/FTP/SMTP form the basis for customer relationships with CarbonCare. In addition to the free calculation of individual queries for cargo shipments on this website, CarbonCare offers attractive licenses for shippers, trade and industry as well as for freight forwarders and other logistics service providers. Depending on requirements, an offline (via EXCEL) or an online (via API-XML) license is used and the additional module "Data Storage and Analytics" enables detailed evaluations. Certification and investments in climate protection projects are possible with all licenses.

Data transfer by the licencee to the CarbonCare server ideally containing the following data: Unique shipment ID, Date, weight, origin, destination, transport mode per segment, cooling.
If the above information is not fully available, CarbonCare will work out the best possible solution together with the client.

Value-added Options

Below is the explanation for the additional options for specific customer segments and needs. Specifications and prices according to individual agreement.

Analytics and Central Data Storage

Customer segments: all companies

By purchasing the business intelligence add-on tool "Analytics & Data Storage" for a surcharge of 30% on the license price, licensees receive dedicated access via their "mycarboncare" with the functions described below (ready in summer 2023). The tool creates long-term transparency about CO2e values and enables the management of emissions caused by a company's logistical activities and those of its branches and/or external (sub)customers.

OFFSET

Customer segments: all companies

Companies can offset their CO2e emissions by purchasing CO2e certificates from certified climate protection projects and thus reduce their corporate footprint. The prices depend on the selected projects and the amount of CO2e to be compensated.

FLEET

Customer segments: Transport companies

Calculation of CO2e factors and CO2e values for vehicles and for entire fleets based on actual consumption values. Based on this, transport companies can use a BASIC or BUSINESS license to calculate and make available the CO2 values on a consignment basis for their customers.

PARTNER

Customer segments: Transport Management Software providers (TMS)

The TMS software is connected to the CarbonCare calculator via API, thus enabling automatic data exchange for the calculation of CO2e values. The calculated values are displayed directly in the partner's software. Thus, users (e.g. freight forwarders) of this software can access the calculated CO2e values.

VALIDATION

Customer segments: Transport companies

Individual validation of self-determined emission data based on the global standard ISO 14083:2023. A comparison with competing companies based on the CarbonCare data is also possible.

Data Input

In order to ensure correct calculation of emission values, the following data is required:

  • Unique internal shipment reference (e.g. dossier number)

  • External sub-reference (e.g., customer code)

  • Cooling yes/no (default: no)

  • Weight in kg

  • Date of the first transport segment

  • Routing with means of transport per leg

Container typically used in Road, Rail and Sea freight.

Data Output & "Analytics"

Results are available with total emissions (TOT), operational emissions (OPS) and emissions for energy provision (ENE) emission values on the customer's « mycarboncare ». A CO2 emission certificate is issued each year for all licensees.

We recommend using the "Analytics" add-on module with central data storage and continuous access to all data that the company has sent to CarbonCare and the CarbonCare calculator has calculated. Evaluations with filters, parameters and evaluation tables, e.g., per

  • Period (day, week, month, year, cumulative)

  • Means of transport (truck, tour, ship, route, ORIG-DEST, etc.)

  • Customer (e.g., for freight forwarders or transporters who want to make the values available to their customers)
